In light of the recent devastation in Haiti, we at Care Bags Foundation, with support from our Iowa community and donations collected through Newton Community Schools "Newton Cardinals Care" donation drive, are doing our small part to bring hope and tangible gifts of love to some of the children affected by this disaster. In order to get our items in the hands of those who need them most, we have teamed up with Korina Smith and Humanitarian Travels International (www.humanitariantravels.org), who is organizing a relief mission to Haiti March 18-25, 2010.  HTI specializes in taking families, students, and groups on humanitarian missions all over the world. For this mission, HTI has partnered with Give Them a Hand Foundation to hand-deliver shipments of relief aid to an orphanage in Port-au-Prince and JetBlue has generously allowed them to charter a plane to transport their team and aid. They will be traveling with Dr. Patch Adams and his team of doctors, as well as members of Airline Ambassadors International. We are  extremely proud to be involved with this important humanitarian effort.
